MUMBAI, India – Fairmont Mumbai and Roswyn, A Morgans Originals Hotel have announced the elevation of Shamoyel Ozair to the position of Associate Director of Rooms & Sustainability, reinforcing the properties' commitment to operational excellence, exceptional guest experiences, and sustainable hospitality practices.

With more than 16 years of experience in the luxury hospitality sector, Ozair brings a wealth of expertise in rooms division operations, housekeeping management, sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives, quality assurance, budgeting, hotel pre-openings, and talent development. Throughout his career, he has successfully led high-performing teams while delivering operational excellence across some of the world's most prestigious hospitality brands, including Fairmont, Raffles, and The Leela.

Prior to his promotion, Ozair served as Director of Housekeeping & Sustainability at Fairmont Mumbai, where he was responsible for leading housekeeping operations, laundry services, procurement, landscaping, and ensuring compliance with Fairmont's global brand standards. He also managed strategic vendor partnerships and played a key role in executing large-scale events while driving sustainability initiatives across the property.

Before joining Fairmont Mumbai, Ozair spent seven years at Fairmont Jaipur, steadily progressing through leadership roles from Assistant Housekeeping Manager to Executive Housekeeper. During his tenure, he successfully managed large-scale housekeeping operations, implemented sustainability programmes, strengthened quality assurance processes, and supported operational audits that enhanced service standards across the hotel.

His hospitality journey also includes valuable experience with The Leela Mumbai and The Leela Palace New Delhi, where he further refined his expertise in luxury guest service, operational leadership, and departmental management.

Ozair has also played an instrumental role in several prestigious hotel launches, contributing to the successful pre-opening teams for Raffles Udaipur, Raffles Jaipur, and Fairmont Mumbai. His extensive pre-opening experience has equipped him with strong capabilities in operational planning, team training, systems implementation, and brand execution.

His contributions to the hospitality industry have earned him significant professional recognition. Among his notable achievements are the Housekeeping Person of the Year award at the Accor India Hotel Awards 2018 and the Executive Housekeeper of the Year – North title at the IHE Excellence Awards 2020, recognizing his leadership, operational excellence, and commitment to innovation in hotel management.

In his new role as Associate Director of Rooms & Sustainability, Ozair will oversee the Rooms Division across both Fairmont Mumbai and Roswyn, A Morgans Originals Hotel. His responsibilities include leading housekeeping and laundry operations, enhancing guest service standards, driving sustainability and ESG strategies, improving operational efficiencies, ensuring compliance with brand standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

His appointment reflects the organization's continued focus on strengthening leadership while advancing sustainable hospitality practices and delivering world-class guest experiences across both luxury properties.
